Below are project(s) that have had notices distributed where due to the size and scope of the project technical reports are being provided for public review.

Anderson/LaVenture Road Improvements:

Proposed is the extension of LaVenture Road from Blackburn Road to the south; then curving to the west to connect with Anderson Road.  Portions of Anderson Road (Blodgett to Cedardale) will be widened.  This new and reconstructed roadway spans a little over a linear mile and will include two travel lanes, one turning lane, a bike lane in locations, and curb/gutter/sidewalks on both sides.  There will also be intersection, road and utility improvements where this new roadway intersects with Blackburn and Blodgett Roads; and 19th Street will be extended.

This project will require work within Maddox Creek for the replacement of two culverts and the realignment of a portion of the creek to construct a bridge.  In addition, approximately 3.54 acres of wetlands will be filled for the construction of the roadway and its associated stormwater pond.  Stormwater will be attenuated in new oversized pipes that will be installed under the new/reconstructed roadway; and a stormwater pond will be constructed at the southern portion of the City's Bonnie Rae Park.

The portion of this project that will be constructed within the Blackburn Road right-of-way, and the work from Blodgett Road to the west, is within the municipal boundaries of the City of Mount Vernon.  The remainder of the proposed work is within the City's Urban Growth Area that is under Skagit County's jurisdiction.
