Received a Parking Ticket?



Overtime Parking:
Any violation of the maximum time periods for parking as established by regulatory signs erected by the City of Mount Vernon, or as otherwise established shall be subject to a penalty of $20.00.

If the Municipal Court receives payment within 24 hours after issuance of the citation, the penalty for any $20.00 overtime infraction shall be reduced by one-half to $10.00.

All other Violations of Parking:
All other violations shall be subject to the monetary penalty for like violations as set forth in the Justice Court Traffic Infraction Rules (JTIR), and are not subject to the one half off as noted above.

A penalty (late/delinquent fee) shall be added in the amount of $25.00 for failure to respond to a notice of parking violation, and in addition, any vehicle parked in violation of city ordinance 2747, Section 1, MVMC (Mount Vernon Municipal Code) section 10.20.100 shall be subject to impoundment of the vehicle at the owner's expense.
