Mount Vernon Arts Commission (MVAC) is preparing for its first Regional Juried Visual Art Show.  This event will open November 12, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. As a tie-in to the
fall harvest season, the Mount Vernon Arts Commission is featuring artwork that explores the bountiful world we live in and the power of community. The juried show will run in conjunction with Student and Senior Citizen Art Exhibits of the same theme. Exhibits will continue through November 26, 2011.

Call for Visual Art

In November 2011, the Mount Vernon Arts Commission will host a regional juried visual arts show titled Bountiful.  As a tie-in to the fall harvest season, the Mount Vernon Arts Commission is calling for artwork that explores the bountiful world we live in and the power of community. The show will open November 11, in The Front Gallery, located at 420 Myrtle Street in Mount Vernon. The entry fee is $25 for the first two submissions, $10 for each additional submission.

 

Cash and prizes will be awarded for Best of Show, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, Honorable Mention, and People's Choice.

 

Juror for the Bountiful show is Greg Tate, former full time Art faculty and Department chair at Skagit Valley College.

 

Download entry forms and submission guidelines at www.mountvernonwa.gov. Click on "Community", and then "Arts Commission". Entries must be postmarked by October 1, 2011.
