Mount Vernon 2010 Population = 31,020

Skagit County was supplied with an estimated population growth amount for the next 20 years by the Office of Financial Management.  The total was then dispersed to the various jurisdictions in the county, based on historical growth patterns and future growth potential, with the underlying assumption that eighty percent (80%) of the projected growth would be allocated to existing urban centers, such as Mount Vernon.

This population allocation means that an additional 46,102 people will reside in Skagit County over the next twenty (20) years.  The City of Mount Vernon is expected to receive 19,567 of these people, which equates to nearly a seventy percent (70%) increase in the City's population.
