| Notice of Rate Change for Mount Vernon Wastewater & Solid Waste Utility Customers |
|
Sewer Rate Change:
Mount Vernon City Ordinance 3415 approved by City Council August 13, 2008, and Ordinance 3486 approved March 10, 2010, established new sewer rates for a five year period beginning January 2009. Effective January 1, 2012 sewer rates for residential, multi-family and commercial customers will have an average increase of 1.6% compared to 2011.
Garbage Rate Change:
Mount Vernon City Ordinance 3470 approved by City Council December 16, 2009 established a three-year stepped rate increase beginning in 2010 for all customer classes. Effective January 1, 2012 solid waste rates for all customer classes, all levels of services, will increase 6.0% over 2011 rates.
Sewer & garbage rate changes will first be reflected on billing received in February 2012 for January service.
